Welcome to all the Davison descendants. We have come a long way in discovering the descendants of  George Davison Sr., from Tandragee (Tanderagee), Northern Ireland. More maps and pictures of Tandragee can be accessed here and here (and other information in the Davison History Overview Page - Public Viewing). Many, many thanks to the present day relatives who have been so very generous with sharing family information, pictures and stories.

All the names we have discovered have been entered on trees, and organized in order of birth of the children of George Davison Sr. (see tree D1 here ). Your tree can be found from the Name Index. Each tree will lead you to ancestor and descendant trees, and notes and pictures for the people on that page.  The Help Page gives further assistance in finding your relatives' information.

My wife Doris and I began researching the Davison family in 2004. We began our project knowing very little. We had a very old handwritten tree, and some scribbled notes from my grandfather, A.E. Davison. From him we know George Sr. came from Tandragee, Ireland, worked on fortifications Quebec City, and then came to Augusta, Grenville Co., Ontario. He had a son Benona (my great great grandfather), but no other sibling’s names were listed on the old tree. From there, we researched the internet resources, genealogical archives, graveyards, and other relatives' information (see Research notes).

During our research, we came across Laura Donohue in Watertown NY, also related to Benona.  Laura is an avid and gifted co-researcher, able to find unbelievably obscure references and people. Through many problem solving weeks and years, together Laura and I filled out the families. Many present day relatives, whose names were discovered in obituaries, newspaper articles and other lists, were then contacted by mail. Hundreds have responded, and contributed family information, anecdotes, and photos. At this time we have listed over 2500 photos and over 5000 people, all descendants of George Davison Sr. Many, many thanks to all of you. We are also pleased to have contacted Davisons who still live in the Tandragee area (super friendly people!), and have also found present day Davison families who went from Tandragee to Australia and New Zealand. Their family trees, photos, etc. can be accessed from the Tree Index.
